EVOLVE GRAND FORKS RECEIVES $25,000 TO SUPPORT THE 701 COWORKING SPACE

Evolve Grand Forks receives $25,000 to support the 701 coworking space To help support talent in Grand Forks and ensure broad access to the 701 coworking space the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation at the Community Foundation of Grand Forks has awarded Evolve Grand Forks $25,000 in support.

Grand Forks, ND – October 25, 2017 – The Community Foundation of Grand Forks and the John S. and James L. Kight Donor-Advised Fund have awarded Evolve Grand Forks with a $25,000 grant to ensure broad access to The 701 coworking space. Evolve Grand Forks is a non-profit organization with the mission to support a culture of entrepreneurship in the Greater Grand Forks region and manages The 701 in downtown Grand Forks.

“We are so fortunate and appreciative to have such broad community support for the work we’re doing,” said Collin Hanson, Executive Director. “The 701 Coworking is home to nearly 40 coworkers and has played host to over 30 entrepreneur- and community-related events. It is also the headquarters for several Grand Forks organizations like Alley Alive, North Dakota Block Chain Group, and the Greater Grand Forks Young Professionals. With these matching funds, we can ensure that anyone with the passion and work ethic to pursue their entrepreneurial dream will have a place where they can connect and collaborate with other creators and doers.”

While The 701 is funded through tenancy and memberships, several organizations like the Community Foundation, Knight Foundation, Also Creative, Wells Fargo, and Bremer Bank have contributed seed money to get the space up and running, including the Grand Forks Region Economic Development Corporation, JLG Architects, and Midcontinent.
